CHENGDU, China - A powerful earthquake measuring 7.8 on the Richter scale struck Western China on Monday, toppling thousands of homes, factories and offices, trapping students in schools, and killing at least 10,000 people, the country's worst natural disaster in three decades. As rescue workers plowed deeper into the wreckage left from Monday's earthquake, uncovering more victims trapped in the most remote mountain villages near the epicenter in Sichuan Province, the death toll soared to nearly 15,000. The new figure was announced by Chinese state news services as night fell Wednesday in China. Now nearly 100 hours after the quake, the hope for survivors is dimming and some officials said they expect the death toll to climb to 20,000. After this calamity many people become homeless and the orphan become more and more. Now the only thing we could do is give a hand.We hope the organization and friends from all of the world could give a hand to the victims.Let us overcome this difficulty together!
